From Coach Andy

Players, it is time to get yourself and your game in shape. Do not wait until February 26th to start running, lifting and working on your stick skills.

New players, I encourage you to run a minimum of 5 miles a week and work in three, 30-minute anaerobic (weightlifting, push-ups, core exercises, plyometrics) each week.

Returning players, I expect you to do the same while working almost solely on your off hand.  Practice catching, cradling and shooting with your off hand.

Guys, I am serious.  Your dedication now is going to make the difference.  Younger players  are looking to the returning players for examples.  If you blow this off, you are telling them that it’s okay.  That is not how this team was built and that is not how this team will grow.

Off season training is hard, cold, wet and sometimes even boring.  That’s a fact.  But without it we start slower (Clayton last year) and are prone to injuries.  Get out and put in the work now so you can contribute in the Spring.

If you wanted an easy sport…there’s always room on the tennis team.

Coach
