From Coach Andy
To the Falcons Lacrosse Family,
As some of you may have already heard, I have made a personal and professional decision that is going to take me and my family away from the Springfield area and Falcons lacrosse.
The decision to resign as head coach was exceedingly difficult and I miss each and every one of you immensely. The decision to leave this community and proximity to the team has been no less melancholy. Even if I was unable to coach, I could still take some comfort in knowing that I could catch a game and watch as the players mature and grow in their love for the Game.
For nearly four years I have watched a team borne from grassroots. I have watched gangly, pimply-faced adolescents become men of character.
I have watched parents who otherwise share no common bond cheer and groan as one. I have had the privilege to know you all.
I ask now that you not let this program ebb. Passion and tenacity in the face of obstacles have bolstered this team, the same will sustain it.
Thank you all for the trust, the confidence, the sweat, the joy, the challenge and the chance to once again take the field.
I will miss you all.

“In life, like lacrosse:
Success lies in the preparation. It lies in each droplet of sweat shed when no one is looking.
Success lies in always getting up, even when it would be okay to stay down.
Success means knowing that Fire, Ready, Aim seldom yields results.
Success is cheering like hell when a teammate makes a play…and keeping your mouth shut when you do.
Success is understanding that any play could be your last and playing like it.
Success is understanding that assists are a skill…and a metaphor.
Success may require that you have to make a hit…when called on to do so, make it count.
Success is playing with your head up. You can’t make the play if you are blind to opportunity.
Success is understanding that wins and losses are both full of lessons…and worthy of analysis.
Success is realizing that though many can play, few can coach.”

Coach,
Thank you for taking Rob, Derek, an me seriously. Thank you for being that final link, and building the team we had only dreamed of. Thank you for your time, effort, and dedication. Again, thank you for teaching us how to be lacrosse players not to just play lacrosse.
Best wishes for you and your family.
Forever Grateful,
Tyler Woodsome
